You are what you eat

You are what you eat

Many people repeat this phrase nowadays, including nutritionists, nurses, life coaches and doctors.

This meaningful expression is not new, it all started in 1940 when the book “You are what you eat” by Victor H. Lindlarh was published, and after that it gained further popularity in the 1960′s.

But the origin of this statement goes much further and deeper. In 1863 the German philosopher Ludwig Feuerbach said, “Man is what he eats”. Before him Savarin said, “Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are”.

What we put in our body is so important but most of the people take it for granted, but is not their fault, there are so many factor. Lets start by talking how wrong the Food Pyramid is; how can you teach a child that the most important food group is carbohydrates when the most important and the one you need to consume the most is fruits and vegetables.

Then there are the big companies with their advertisements confusing the people, inventing all this fast food, or saying that you need to drink at least 2 boxes of milk per day to prevent osteoporosis, when we now have studies made by real scientist saying that milk doesn’t prevent that and it is actually worse because it increases the cholesterol in your blood and can even cause kidney stones.

But is never too late to change your lifestyle, remember that our body is a temple that only we can nourish it.

Fill your body with raw food, food from the ground, food full of life and you will feel a difference, more energy, less anxiety, better digestion, healthier looking clearer mind. You wont regret it. It is time for a change.
